2017 Essence Music Festival Line Up

Via Okayplayer:

Every year, millions head down to N’awlins in droves to participate in the Essence Music Festival Concert Series. As someone who has never been (but hope to go) — all I have heard is that this is the place to be to get your groove on. Heck, even if you’re washed and dry cleaned (like yours truly) — you are bound to hear, see or run into something worthwhile. So, this year’s lineup is no exception, as Mary J. Blige, Solange Knowles, Chaka Khan and first-time headliner, Diana Ross, are filling out the Essence Music Festival bill.

Elsewhere, Mary J. Blige will headline a special night where she’ll introduce the masses to her new album, Strength of a Woman.

Mark your calendars for June 30 — July 2, 2017, as the Big Easy gets busy with more than 40 acts that will perform across five stages. “This year’s Festival lineup puts women at the forefront of an incredible weekend of entertainment featuring more than 40 of the world’s most gifted artists and performers,” said Essence President Michelle Ebanks in a released statement. “It is an honor to welcome the inimitable Diana Ross to the Festival for the first time. Plus, Festival veteran Mary J. Blige is back to share ‘Strength of a Woman’ with her most passionate fans.”

See the list of confirmed artists below, keep an eye out for those weekend ticket packages (starting at $126 on 12/16) and join the festival community @EssenceFest on Twitter.
